Why Sapphire

High thermal conductivity

Sapphire (synthetic corundum) has a thermal conductivity roughly 30× higher than glass. This means heat from the IPL flash is rapidly pulled away from the skin surface and dissipated through the cooling module, keeping the epidermis comfortable even at high fluences.

Optical clarity and durability

Sapphire is optically transparent across the IPL spectrum (500–1200nm), allowing the light pulse to pass through with minimal attenuation. Its hardness (9 on the Mohs scale — second only to diamond) makes it highly scratch-resistant, ensuring consistent optical performance over the device’s lifetime.
